Hello! I’m Chungdu Tshering, a Forestry Officer at the Ugyen Wangchuck Institute for Forest Research and Training (UWIFoRT) in Bhutan. With a strong background in dendrochronology, forest ecology, and environmental monitoring, I serve as the Dendro-lab In-Charge, tutor, and mentor for forestry trainees. I’m also the Deputy Country Coordinator for the GLOBE Program (NASA) in Bhutan, promoting science education and citizen-based environmental research.

My recent work includes a fellowship at the Laboratory of Tree-Ring Research, University of Arizona, through the Agnese N. Haury Fellowship, where I studied dendrochemical and climate-growth relationships in Himalayan conifers. I’m currently pursuing my Master’s in Forestry and Natural Resources at the University of Georgia, USA, with a focus on forest biology and wood science.

My research interests span dendroclimatology, habitat mapping, forest product value chains, and climate resilience, with a growing emphasis on applying scientific tools like UAVs, GIS, and statistical modeling to sustainable forest management and conservation.
